Synopsis

This book contains two important works of Osamu Dazai in his later period of creation - "Disqualification in the World" and "Setting Sun". In these two works, Osamu Dazai focuses on expressing the love, trust and freedom of the inner world between human beings, and analyzes the true side of people hidden under their morality, which is thought-provoking. Mr. Dazai's books are full of the ugly side of human nature, which is very realistic. Some of the human nature may still exist, but occasionally you can see a faint star that represents the inherently good nature of human nature.

This book touched me very much, especially Osamu Dazai's portrayal of "marginal people", which reminded me of my own confusion and helplessness when I first became a mother. Some plots in the book, such as Oba Yezo's self-destruction, made me deeply realize how important the relationship between people is.
