Starting Out in the Poorest Township

Lin Wangbei, a civil servant at the Social Security Bureau, died suddenly and was reborn in 2004 as a twenty-two-year-old top student graduating from the economics department of Handong University. A job assignment sent him to the poorest mountain township in Yantai City. Armed with his foresight into the workings of officialdom and economic cycles, he began prying open the world of Jingzhou politics one step at a time from the muddy ground. Before Ding Yizhen could flee and before the Dafeng Factory explosion, he turned Handong upside down.
