Siheyuan, 1958: I Started Raising Pigs with a Sign-In

When Chen Weidong opens his eyes, he has become a resident of Courtyard No. 95 on Nanluoguxiang in 1958. He's just graduated from high school, and his pockets are emptier than his stomach.

Fortunately, he gets a portable space through sign-in from the start: wild boars, roe deer, big fat fish, white flour, and cornmeal are all his for the taking.

He joins the Red Star Steel Rolling Mill as an off-plan procurement officer, taking charge of everything from the canteen's main kitchen to its private dining room.

Jia Zhangshi shows up with a basin to mooch meat? Yi Zhonghai calls a meeting and tells him to be generous?

Yan Bugui mooches tea and cigarettes? Xu Damao schemes against him behind his back?

Chen Weidong grins: No one in this courtyard is taking even one piece of meat from my bowl.

From lending grain in the village to earning merit at the factory and settling accounts in front of the whole courtyard, this time, no one is going to take advantage of him.
