Siheyuan: Taking Dongxu as My Disciple, I Get Hundredfold Returns and Profits

Li Jiandong binds to an apprentice-recruiting System. Taking Jia Dongxu as his apprentice earns him a hundredfold return.

But Yi Zhonghai is also after Dongxu, and keeps tripping Li Jiandong up at every turn. Li Jiandong doesn't care about his schemes. He'll take Dongxu on as an apprentice first and worry about the rest later. As soon as his apprentice gets started, machine maintenance experience, fitter skills, cash, and ration coupons come pouring in. In just a few days, he's already close to becoming a Grade Eight fitter!

Even better, Yi Zhonghai and his wife end up shooting themselves in the foot. They were hoping to use Qin Huairu, a country girl, to drive a wedge between master and apprentice, but she takes one look at Li Jiandong and falls for him instead. Master and apprentice don't turn against each other. Dongxu, in fact, is spurred on to practice his skills and manages to reach Grade Three fitter level.

Yi Zhonghai is grinding his teeth in anger and plotting more tricks at the factory. But Li Jiandong's life is going better and better. He has support in the courtyard, is about to be promoted to Grade Eight fitter at the factory, and has even set a date to get married next month. Just as his apprentice is about to graduate, Yan Bugui from the front courtyard comes chasing after him, wanting to send his son to become an apprentice too. There's plenty more excitement to come!
