Pokemon: Growlithe Awakens and Solves a Heaven-Shaking Mystery

After transmigrating to the Pokemon world, Lu Yi was struck by lightning and sent crashing into Blaine's lab on Cinnabar Island. Clefable saved his life with a Life Dew, and Blaine tested him with a riddle: "A bald guy with a short beard, wearing sunglasses and a lab coat. Who is he?" Lu Yi answered, "You, old man," leaving Blaine speechless.

When the System displayed "Righteous Judgment," Lu Yi was rubbing Growlithe's head. Everyone thought this Pokemon with the Justified Ability was a good-for-nothing, but Lu Yi's eyes lit up. "Are you willing to help me smash the world's dark corners?" Growlithe leaped into its Poke Ball, and the System announced that Tool Proficiency had been unlocked.

Blaine posed one final challenge: "Born through battle, fighting to survive. If heaven wants me dead, I'll turn heaven upside down. Name the Pokemon." Lu Yi deliberately guessed Tauros and Infernape. Blaine laughed. "It's normal not to know. That one is Mewtwo." Before they parted, Blaine held up three fingers. "Work as my assistant for ninety days. Room and board are on me, and I'll teach you. Every move you learn will be a trump card that could save your life when you solve cases in the future." Gripping his Poke Ball, Lu Yi smiled at Growlithe. "Time to get to work, partner."
