Investiture of the Gods: The Calamity's Destiny, Rewriting Heaven's Mandate

Qiao Kun has cultivated for ten years, but only realizes he is in the Investiture of the Gods world when his master tells him to seek refuge with Li Jing at Chentang Pass. With mediocre aptitude and half-baked spells that can only conjure a flame or gather a ball of water, he would be nothing but cannon fodder on the battlefield.

As soon as he arrives at Chentang Pass, Nezha smashes him in the face with the Universe Ring. Qiao Kun nearly gets himself killed, then pulls out a Golden Cudgel and fights back. He doesn't care if Nezha stirs up the sea and tears out a dragon's sinews, but if Nezha tries to kill him, he won't hold back either.

Shi Ji Niangniang descends on a blue phoenix, and Li Jing uses a weapon belonging to the Yellow Emperor Xuanyuan to stand against her. Crouched in a corner, Qiao Kun watches with twitching eyelids. Golden Immortals are everywhere, and powerful beings are as common as dogs. How is he supposed to survive? But the way to stay alive often isn't part of the plan. He and Shi Ji are trapped inside the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover, where the flames grow hotter and hotter, and they are about to be burned to ashes. As she nears death, Shi Ji clutches his hand and insists he make her a promise. His heart softens, and he agrees. The next moment, Shi Ji overturns the divine fire cover and suppresses Taiyi Zhenren. The course of the Investiture of the Gods has gone completely off the rails.

From riding Nezha's coattails to catching Shi Ji Niangniang's eye, Qiao Kun has just one thing to say: If my name isn't on the Investiture of the Gods, who'll give me a government job when I die?
