I'm Not the Courtyard's Local Jailbird

I really never meant to send the whole courtyard into the slammer. They brought it on themselves.

After transmigrating into a courtyard compound, I became Wang Gousheng, a sickly man. I wanted to lie flat and coast through life, but Yi Zhonghai insisted on swindling me out of my money, Qin Huairu insisted on using her charms on me, and Jia Zhangshi insisted on throwing herself on the ground to stage an accident. What could I do? I had no choice but to gather evidence of all their crimes in my pocket dimension, tears in my eyes.

Yi Zhonghai embezzled Silly Zhu's child support? I got it on video. Qin Huairu and Yi Zhonghai sneaked into the cellar together? I took pictures. Jia Zhangshi abused Jia Hesheng? I reported her to the Women's Federation. Liu Haizhong took bribes? I sent in an anonymous tip.

I really didn't do it on purpose. They insisted on putting on a show in front of me, so I just happened to keep a record. A month later, half the people in the courtyard were behind bars, and the other half were on their way.

Yi Zhonghai grabbed my hand in the slammer and said, "Wang Gousheng, were you planning to take us down all along?" I looked innocent. "Uncle One, how can you say that? I swear, I really never meant to send the whole courtyard into the slammer. I just... like keeping a record of life."
