Chen Feng transmigrated to a world of martial arts. It was some year under a dynasty, and the world was in turmoil, with a corrupt, incompetent court.
As a hunter living at the foot of the vast mountains, Chen Feng should have had a comfortable life. But tyranny was worse than a tiger, and cruel officials squeezed every last drop from the people.
At the same time, his father died in the mountains, leaving behind only a young bride who had just joined the family.
To make matters worse, he had only a month left to pay the mountain tax. If he failed, he would be dragged off to perform forced labor.
Looking at his tearful young bride, Su Ang stood at a crossroads.
Should he flee with her, or run away alone?
As for paying the tax, there was no way he was paying it.
Just then, the Book of Imperial Majesty appeared, giving Chen Feng three choices.
[Worst omen: Flee with your wife, Lin Yun, but villager Chen Liu will inform on you. Your escape will fail, and after you are beaten half to death, you will be sent to work in an illegal mine. Chen Liu will steal your wife, leaving you cuckolded and doomed to die.]
[Middling omen: Flee alone, encounter bandits on the road, and be forced to join them in the mountains. You will become a bandit, with a bleak future and endless troubles.]
[Best omen: Go to Tiger Head Mountain and find a large boulder before the third quarter of the You hour. Dig around it to uncover a minor opportunity. It will conceal your tracks and leave no future troubles.]
“Heaven never closes every door.”
Chen Feng immediately set off for Tiger Head Mountain.
Thus began the extraordinary life of a hunter blessed with good fortune.
