Just as she was getting ready to use what little she remembered to make a fortune, a renowned Daoist master decided to take her as his disciple and threw himself into guiding her onto the righteous path.

Bai Fu’er planted her hands on her hips. “I’ll take both of you as my masters!”
Unfortunately, her masters were unreliable. They were all bluster when they talked, but utterly casual when it came time to act.

The well-behaved little black dog said, “Buy me! I’m great at picking out chicks and ducklings. I’m the perfect choice if you want to make a fortune.”
The cauliflower snake in the grass said, “You stepped on my tail, you know that?”
The animal world was so full of wonders. Bai Fu’er looked up, and a figure appeared in her field of vision. Her pupils shrank. The handsome young lord frowned, his heart racing as he remembered the fear of being lorded over by this girl in his childhood. He turned and ran...
Bai Fu’er was delighted. “Handsome young lord, where do you think you’re going? Big Mule, chase him~~~”
