Reporter Shi Jie arrives in the Altay region of Xinjiang, where her grandmother once worked in a support program. After hearing locals talk about an ancient village in Burqin County called Hemu Village, she decides to visit.
In Hemu Village, she sees the unique landscape dotted with wooden houses belonging to the Tuva people and meets residents from the many ethnic groups who live there. Putting her professional skills to use, Shi Jie records the local customs and way of life on video. After uploading the videos to the internet, she attracts an enormous amount of attention.
During her stay, Shi Jie falls deeply in love with the village. In the end, she decides to apply for a local village official post and stay, continuing to contribute to the local cultural tourism industry. Alongside young people from the various ethnic groups who live there, she writes a story of support for Xinjiang in the new era.
While working in Xinjiang, she falls for Lin Ye, a police officer at the Hemu border police station, and finds a precious love of her own.
