Youth Bound for Xinjiang

Reporter Shi Jie travels to the Altay region of Xinjiang, where her grandmother once volunteered to provide support. After locals tell her about Hemu Village, an ancient settlement in Burqin County, she decides to go and see it for herself.

In Hemu Village, she discovers the unique scenery of wooden Tuva homes scattered across the area and meets residents of various ethnic groups who live there. Putting her professional skills to use, Shi Jie records the local customs and way of life on video. After uploading it to the internet, she receives an enormous amount of attention.

During this time, Shi Jie falls deeply in love with the village. She ultimately decides to take the local village official recruitment exam and stay, continuing to contribute to the local cultural tourism industry. Alongside young people from the different ethnic groups who live there, she will write a story of support for Xinjiang in a new era.

While working in Xinjiang, she also forms a bond with Lin Ye, a police officer at the Hemu Border Police Station, and finds a precious love of her own.
