Possessed by an Evil Spirit

Ever since I met that child, I haven’t been able to stop worrying about him. I went to see his attending physician first. The doctor said his condition seemed to have improved somewhat. But when I saw the child, I felt the doctor was talking nonsense. He was still sitting there as quietly as ever. He didn’t seem surprised to see me. After all, for the past ten years, I’d visited him whenever I had the time. He’d been only eight back then, and in the blink of an eye he’d grown so much. As usual, I asked how he’d been doing. He was getting much better at answering questions. Well, at least in that respect, he was doing far better than when he’d first been admitted. “Uncle Jiang…” “Hmm?” “Could I ask you to do something for me?” I was a little surprised. This was the first time the child had ever asked me for anything. He handed me a notebook. “I don’t really understand what’s written in here. Could you look into it for me?” I took the notebook and opened it. It seemed to be a diary, filled with scattered accounts. Many described how the diarist kept hearing strange voices or doing things against their own will. But what made my heart jolt was the large, blood-red writing on the last page: Uncle Jiang, save me! There’s an evil spirit living inside my body!
