Searching for Xinjiang

At eighteen, Li Qingwu met a Kazakh boy in the far north of Xinjiang.

She admired him, fell in love with him, then conquered him, taming the proud king of the grasslands into an obedient lapdog.

Then, at the height of their passion, she kicked him to the curb, cleanly and decisively.

Ten years later, her family has fallen on hard times. She humbles herself to win a role, her dignity trampled into the dirt.

That boy has since become a brilliant, award-winning director and one of Haicheng's most powerful figures.

Later, when an avalanche strikes, Su Jibei gets his hands covered in blood and nearly loses his life saving her.

But when he turns around, he sees a little girl who looks seven-tenths like him, nestled beside Li Qingwu and calling another man "Dad."
