Upon the Earth

In the 1950s, China's economic development was plagued by a severe shortage of oil. Qin Limin, who had dreamed of producing oil since childhood, met Zhuang Jie, who shared his dream of refining it. From different backgrounds and with completely opposite personalities, the two young people took up the torch passed down by their fathers. To free New China from its label as an oil-poor country, they traveled from the Yumen Oilfield in the northwest to the Chuangye Oilfield in the northeast. They went from misunderstanding one another to falling in love, weathered the upheavals of their era together, and overcame countless difficulties, devoting their lives to fulfilling the solemn promise they had made in their youth.

Three generations of oil workers, steadfast for more than half a century: from drilling New China's first oil well to leading international trends in the oil and gas industry, China's oil workers wrote a glorious chapter in the development of the country's petroleum industry across the land of China, with their youth, wisdom, and passion, and with their determination to bring honor to the nation and fuel the motherland.
