Guarding Home

After ten years away, Li Hongqi answered the government's call to return home and help rebuild. The villagers of Bitterwater Village, where generations of their families had lived, moved to the newly built Sweetwater Village and found happiness in a place where the water was sweet and the people prosperous.

Just as the villagers expected Li Hongqi to keep developing Sweetwater Village and sell the old Bitterwater Village site to a property developer to build a health retreat, he overruled all objections and preserved the old village exactly as it was. Together with the village Party officials, he began restoring ancestral homes, preserving history, and building a base for education about remembering hardship and cherishing the good life...

What is a hometown? It's the place where generations of your family have lived.

The weathered well, the old doorways, the ancient elm with its lush branches, the stone mill worn by years of wind and rain: they all seem to tell one ordinary yet extraordinary story after another...

Restore ancestral homes and preserve the homesickness of generations; old houses with a new look become a scenic sight.

The bright moon shines on wine across a thousand miles. Wherever the heart finds peace is home.
