A City in Harmony

At the Bird's Nest during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the dazzling LED display became known around the world.

Afterward, LED technology ushered in the fourth revolution in lighting worldwide.

For a time, LED light shows became a symbol of a city's economic strength and openness to the world.

Now, LEDs have long since entered homes and every sector of society, growing into a trillion-yuan industry in China.

In the autumn of 2005, Liang Chengzhi, a PhD at the Institute of Microelectronics, was severely disciplined by his organization after acting on impulse.

He quit and left for Shencheng, throwing himself into the wave of China's LED industry revolution.

The road ahead was arduous, beset by internal strife and external threats, with stormy seas all around.

In the end, he and his team achieved success that drew worldwide attention, transforming China's LED industry into a trillion-yuan sector.
