There's a bit of everything here, but nothing brainless: logical plots with substance, told at a measured pace, and sound values. I don't mind a few minor quibbles when I read. As long as there aren't any major deal-breakers, the plot makes sense, and the worldbuilding is internally consistent, I'll keep reading. People say getting to know someone is like reading a book. So, just as with people, if you approach books looking for flaws, you'll never find one you want to read. Every book has something going for it. If its flaws aren't fatal, I'll keep reading for the things it does well. Of course, that's only part of it. A comfortable plot and characters I can stay invested in are also important.
