This list has no theme. It only contains books I personally think are decent, with a preference for stories with big, imaginative ideas. One thing to be clear about: I won't include books with badly written female characters who take up lots of page time. And to be clear, pure romance and harem are mutually exclusive categories. I don't know how anyone dares to combine them. It's absurd.

When it comes to harems and female characters, if you can't write them well, give them less page time or leave them out. I don't mind formulaic heroines and female side characters, and I'm even happy to see them. I just hate it when authors add obnoxious gimmicks and little tricks, then congratulate themselves for writing well.
Book recommendations are very welcome! Extremely welcome! But whether I add a recommendation here is up to chance. Just because I read it doesn't mean I'll put it on the list.
P.P.S. My view on female characters is that they shouldn't get a ton of page time when the protagonist has an extremely ambitious goal and too many secrets to share. If the story is meant to be a fun romp with lots of female characters, that's fine by me.
