Masterpieces With Characters Who Actually Have Brains
Mainly recommending completed novels. Lately I've noticed that a lot of books start strong and then go downhill. For most of them, the first third is so engrossing you forget to eat or sleep, but the middle turns into a slog. You don't want to quit because the opening was so good, yet continuing feels like a waste of time. Here are some books I read in the past and thought were pretty decent.
