The Thief Who Plundered the World

My eyes reflect two sides of the world: One is forever lost to darkness, then shattered to pieces in the hellfire that burns the heavens. The earth is overturned, all things wither, and mortals walking the land become spirits of karma in the mortal realm. They wail in the flames until their souls are utterly broken and reduced to dust in that cataclysm. The other struggles onward through the mists of an unknown history. I thought I had glimpsed the outcome, yet everything had long been predetermined. The wheels of history roll on. I would be the one to turn destruction aside, but an even greater calamity descends because of it. Should I give up? Should I compromise? Or should I bow and scrape before fate?
