The True Record of All Living Beings

Tune: The Fish Touching the Waters I ask how many lifetimes this floating existence has endured. After three lives, one should know the pain of parting. A sentence of twelve thousand years, boundless and unending, yet all I hope for is that the spirits of the fallen will guide me onward. The tribulation of heaven and earth, the heartless path, stars shifting as seas turn to mulberry fields and the Hanging Garden falls. The vast firmament and deep sea, the immortal path long and shadowed, surging against the current, seeking deliverance at eternity’s end. The trials of the heavenly demons reveal the difficulty of ascending to immortality. Thunder, fire, blades, and mountains lie everywhere. Yet true love remains after crossing tribulation, and the primordial spirit does not fade from mortal lands. The pillar reaching heaven, the divine water tree, the sacred light of Yalan descending like a veil. The distant road to heaven: how fearful it is to fall back into the mortal world and begin again. Gathered spirits of the fallen, bound by affection and loyalty, beyond the reach of tribulation.
