The Heavens Shed Their Laws

When gods fight, mortals suffer. That night, countless villages and towns were reduced to ruins in the aftermath of a battle between immortals and gods. Qin Ze's hometown was among them. The authorities called it a natural disaster, but what he sensed in the ruins was unmistakably the aura of immortals. He knelt before the government office and begged for the truth. All he got was driven away. He thought he would have to accept his fate for the rest of his life. Until a white-haired woman tossed him a slip of paper. "You can't rely on the authorities, and you certainly can't rely on the immortals. If you want the truth, find it yourself." Following the note, Qin Ze found the maddest group of people he'd ever met. Some kept themselves alive by eating discarded pills. Some formed arrays with their mangled bodies and severed limbs. Some were covered in strange runes, while others practiced the most brutal cultivation method in the world. The Art of Shedding. Shed the mortal, then shed the spirit, then shed the self. Shed the mortal body, shed the spiritual form, shed the true self, until you smash your own immortal bones and cast off every shackle the Heavenly Dao has forced upon mortals. While others cultivated immortality in pursuit of eternal life, they cultivated to kick the Heavenly Dao off its throne. "The immortals think they're above us? Then we'll drag them down." "The immortals want mortals to live on their knees? Then we'll stand up and fight our way back." Of all the world's myriad laws, I alone shed them all. Humanity decides its fate and triumphs over heaven.
