The Thirteenth Heir

Twelve people enter the game and vote for one another. Whoever gets the most votes “goes underground.” Shen Nian is the thirteenth heir to Egret Manor, and the only one who doesn't know why she was brought into the game. The accounts spanning forty-two years have passed among the Wei, Zhou, and Gu families. Three circular halls in Hankou, Shanghai, and Zhucheng echo one another, weaving their web into the bloodline. Her mother, Lin Wan, has been locked away on the fourth underground level for forty-two years. Her aunt, Shen Yi, is “presumed dead, but the report is unconfirmed.” This game was never about inheritance. It was about raising people to serve as bait in the web.
