In the End, I Didn't Let You Down

The orphan Rong Kuan is a taxi driver who has relied on his older sister, Rong Zhen, since their parents died. His sister gave him everything she had, even using the dowry money for her own wedding to buy him a car and a home. While driving a fare one day, Rong Kuan ran into Zhao Min, who had fallen on hard times and was living on the streets, and brought her home. But Zhao Min was selfish and wayward, and became involved with other men. When Rong Kuan caught her fooling around with another man and tried to confront them, the man, Li Yuanzhou, panicked and tried to escape through a window, accidentally falling and becoming disabled. This led to a lawsuit. Kindhearted Rong Kuan helped Zhao Min flee back to her hometown, but lost the case himself and had to mortgage his house to pay compensation. When his sister found out, she was devastated and cut off all ties with him. Back home, Zhao Min turned over a new leaf and went to live with her older brother, who owned a company. She worked for him for five years and earned a million yuan. Once she had some money, she couldn't stop thinking about how good Rong Kuan had been to her. She traveled a great distance with her daughter to find him in his hometown. After struggling with himself for a while, Rong Kuan forgave Zhao Min. They then visited his sister, and Rong Zhen and Zhao Min put aside their past misunderstandings. The novel has a very happy ending: after weathering hardship, Rong Kuan and Zhao Min marry, and the siblings reconcile as they were before.
