I Became a Top Student Starting with a Passing Grade in Physics

[Ace Student System + High School and College + Physics Olympiad + Lighthearted Wish-Fulfillment]

In 2010, in Wuling, Hunan Province.

The physics tests were handed back. Lu Jing had scored sixty-two.

His deskmate had scored sixty-four and spent half the class waving his test paper in front of Lu Jing.

Lu Jing had nothing to say for himself. He had reviewed the night before and checked his work that day. He had even changed a multiple-choice answer he’d guessed correctly into a wrong one.

Then, that afternoon, as he worked through his mistakes again, a System appeared before his eyes.

A problem he’d read three times without understanding suddenly made sense when he worked through it step by step. He could actually solve it.

At first, Lu Jing had a simple goal: score eighty-five next time, so his dad wouldn’t ask again if he wanted physics tutoring that weekend.

Later, he joined the competition class, won first prize at the provincial level, and made it to the national finals. The math he studied to improve at physics also earned him a first-prize certificate.

Tang Ning still remembered how, back when he borrowed her homework, he always said he only wanted to look at the last problem.

When Chen Zhiwei met him, he was already confident enough to say before a competition, "This time, I want to try for first place."

Later still, he chose increasingly difficult college courses, while the papers on his desk piled higher and higher.

He never threw away that test paper with the score of sixty-two.

Peng Hao kept his sixty-four, too.

After all, it was proof that he’d once beaten a Nobel Prize winner.
