Rise from Ashes

Seventy years ago, the dragon fell and its heart was broken into twelve pieces. The emperor of the empire swallowed the largest fragment and gained immortality, while his humanity gradually declined. The remaining fragments were scattered across the land, and the Dragonborn bloodline was hunted to death by the Empire. Ian, a seventeen-year-old orphan with a curved birthmark on the palm of his left hand, was hidden in Ashes Town by his adoptive father, Cohen. The imperial witch hunter executes Cohen. Ian inherits the mysterious black stone, escapes into the abandoned mine, pulls out the ancient dragonborn sword, and the dragonborn mark appears on his left hand, awakening the half-dragon bloodline. Ian travels through the Ash Mountains, meets fellow dragonborn Alvin and the defected officer Griffin, finds key allies in the Free Territory, and learns to control the power of the split blade and dragon blood, while avoiding the pursuit of the witch hunter Wade. Ian and his companions sneaked into the border of the empire and exposed the emperor's plan to strengthen the "Judge" troops with dragon serum. Alvin was captured as a cover for Ian. Ian was forced to confront Wade head-on, killing the Witch Hunter captain for the first time with his split blade. Ian gathered the remaining dragonborn and resistance forces in the free territories and marched towards the imperial capital. In the final battle, Ian confronted the Emperor and used three fused dragon heart fragments to break the Emperor's immortality, but chose to destroy the dragon's heart rather than devour it, ending the Age of Dragons. The price: the blade shatters, the dragon's blood fades from his body, and he returns to mortal form.
