A Douluo Fan Adventure: I Am Xiaowu's Face

Cha Yue, pen name Cha Yue Meng Su, shares photos and writing on Douyin, offering her work as a gift to her readers.

She has followed Douluo Dalu for a long time and has always favored Xiao Wu. For her next reader gift, she plans to step beyond the original work and design an original outfit for Xiao Wu, drawing fan-art portraits.

But the moment she began refining the facial sketch, she froze.

The lively girl on the page unmistakably had her own face, down to the shape of her brows and eyes.

She hadn't deliberately imitated herself. Her hand had simply drawn it unconsciously.

Her joy vanished in an instant, leaving only a deep sense of unease. How could the character she loved, beneath her own pen, come to look like her?

A cross-dimensional encounter between a creator and the character she loves, about drawing, fantasy, and the feelings hidden in fan art that are so hard to put into words.
