Chinese Entertainment's Famous Director: Starting by Refusing to Be a Simp

Rule Number One for the Reborn: Don't be a simp.

Reborn in 2011, on the first day of freshman year at the Beijing Film Academy.

He wouldn't suck up to his rich second-generation buddy, the campus beauty junior, or anyone with connections he couldn't see or touch.

Screw that ridiculous networking to climb the ladder!

He would do just one thing: become a renowned director.

With the Renowned Director System giving him a cheat, he wrote the screenplay for Charlotte's Troubles. Just twenty thousand words left the Beijing Film Academy professors stunned, and the Youth Film Studio made an exception to let a student be credited as the screenwriter.

His first film hit theaters and grossed over 600 million yuan, stunning the industry and sending him straight to the top.

Years later, a famous film critic summed it up: He was the only director since Stephen Chow who could bring in a billion yuan at the box office just by directing a film starring Xiao He.

In an interview, a reporter asked, “Director Xiao, what allowed you to achieve such extraordinary box-office success, worth tens of billions, at such a young age?”

Xiao He smiled faintly. “Believe in yourself, and you too can be extraordinary.”
