Jishan Bridge

In the twelfth lunar month of 1958, Mu Guilan and her daughter fled famine to Liutao Township in northern Jiangsu Province and collapsed at Jishan Qiaotou. The bridge was donated and built by Tang Yongda, a squire of Tangzhuang in 1917. It is located in Tangzhuang in the east of the bridge and Shanyou in the west. Yang Laoshi, a poor farmer, carried her across the bridge and stuffed back a piece of plum blossom embroidery that had fallen from her arms. The embroidery was embroidered with the words "Zhiqiu, I am in Northern Jiangsu". Zhiqiu was her ex-husband and a member of the Zhejiang underground party. He died in 1949 and his identity has not been identified. Guilan married Yang Laoshi and made a living by embroidering. In 1971, Guilan suffered from hemiplegia. The two villages set up a "stop monument" to become enemies. Guilan lay in bed and embroidered the "Picture of Hundreds of Good Deeds", digesting hatred word by word. In 1986, Tang Jianjun, the eldest son of Tang Qingyi, died while powering on a pole. Two villages carried one pole. In 2001, Shen Zhiqiu posthumously recognized him as a martyr. In 2010, the two villages merged. A monument is erected at the head of Jishan Bridge, with the words "Good deeds will be rewarded, not by me, but by my children and grandchildren" engraved on the front. Someone was rescued on the bridge, and someone set up a monument at the head of the bridge. The bridge is still there. The words are still there. Goodness lies.
