Carved in the Past

Qian You'an bears an incomplete divine authority over time, [Achilles' Fragment of the Temporal Sequence]. Rated S-tier in talent, he is considered a once-in-a-century genius. But in the early stages, he cannot control this power at all. He frequently suffers violent mental backlash and repeatedly falters in actual combat. Despite his top-tier talent, he lives like a good-for-nothing.

He has a strained relationship with his parents, and conflicts often erupt between them. They cannot understand the strange phenomena and suffering that keep happening to him, leaving a deep divide between family members.

An ancient black stone of unknown origin latches onto him, continually flooding him with fragmented visions of history. Headaches and mental erosion follow him like a shadow. One bizarre incident after another leads him to the mysterious Westmude Academy of Historical Relics. The academy seeks the truth about the past, buried and rewritten, while a shadowy force of villains lurks behind the scenes: the Fate Tamperers. Their identities remain a mystery. They interfere with and manipulate history at will, rewriting the truth of the world. The academy also conceals the secret story of how his parents quietly sacrificed themselves years ago.

He wields his bonded Tang sword, "Time Tracer," and commands the powers of rewinding time, freezing moments, foreseeing branching futures, and even reversing death. But his divine authority is inherently incomplete, and the fatal weakness known as the Achilles' heel follows him like a shadow. Every powerful spell exposes him to the backlash of time's torrent. Overuse risks his sense of self being devoured by fragments of history. Resurrection and altering the future do not make him invincible: resurrection is limited to those who have just fallen in battle and whose bodies remain intact, while forcibly changing fate exacts a devastating price. These powers must never be used carelessly.

Here, he befriends Jiang, a lively and goofy guy who loves joking around, yet hides a powerful finishing move: the Final Judgment.
