Back Room: the Bible

My name is MacKenzie, the founder of a Silicon Valley company that sells "calm." But after falling through the wall of reality, all I had left was my racing heart and the endless sound of fluorescent lights in my ears. ​Later I learned this place was called The Backrooms. A giant tomb stitched together from non-Euclidean space. Damp and moldy yellow carpets, endless weird hotels from the 1930s, claustrophobic tubes lurking with pale smiling faces, and foggy midnight highways. Here, time is always frozen at 22:47, and the laws of physics are tampered with. The fangs that the companion bared for the half bottle of almond water were colder than the monster. My only anchor point is a thin shadow that can't even speak a complete sentence. He was obviously scared to the core, but he used his flesh and blood to block the fatal blow for me, drew red circles and dots on the corner of the wall, and whispered to me: "Go forward, don't look back." ​I must grit my teeth and go on in this illusion that devours my sanity. Because here, once you stop - the abyss will smile and open its arms to you.
