The Gods Are Not Sealed

In the tenth year of Emperor Xin's reign, Wang Ji's temples began to be called by wrong names. Ancestors misidentify their descendants, river gods forget their own rivers, and war dead dream of gods that have not yet appeared. Seven days later, hundreds of temples in Dashang will jointly introduce the royal ancestral fire; once the wrong name enters the ancestral temple, military oaths, marriage contracts, inheritances and field sacrifices will all be lost. The old priests advocated sacrificing the names of a few living people to draw boundaries for out-of-control gods. However, Di Xin ordered: "The fault is God, why should anyone sacrifice their name?" He used the power of the last generation of human emperors to protect the names of living people, and also personally established the Court of Asking Gods. But every time he saves a name, there is another shadow in Wang Huo that demands responsibility from him; when more and more gods, ethnic groups and lands refuse to accept the same name, he must face his most dangerous thought—— Since Heaven cannot name all living beings, should the Emperor of Humanity do so? The Shang and Zhou dynasties competed for the world, the gods competed for order, and what every living person and dead soul competed for was whether they could still tell who they were. The apotheosis of the gods is coming, but the gods have not yet been anointed.
