I Judge the Gods with the Dead

When the saint died, not one of the seventy-two bells in the city rang. While mortuary apprentice Kane Whelan was arranging her body, he heard the corpse say: "Don't light the white flames." From that night on, Kane discovered that the holy objects enshrined by the White Flame Holy See were not gifts from gods, but the remains of the old gods; the so-called miracles were nothing but lies squeezed from the bones.
