The Sound of Swords on the Road

"The Sound of Knives on Yi Road" is a historical martial arts novel set in the late Ming Dynasty. The story begins with the dismantling of the post station in the second year of Chongzhen's reign. Liang Zhao, a young postman in Yinchuan Post, originally only wanted to keep a meal and a way to survive, but because of a fake official document, he was involved in the whirlpool of Liao's pay, frontier troops, the eunuch party's remnants, and the capital's intrigues. In the first volume, Liang Zhao ran away from Caiyi Station on a snowy night, and went through dangerous situations such as the pursuit of a ruined temple, the fire in Guiyi Cang, the night crossing of the Yellow River, and the remaining post in Lugou, and met Shen Qinghe, Bai Yan, Xiaojing and others. He was originally just a little person who was pushed away by fate, but he learned to resist in the face of false letters, dead accounts, and perjury: letters can be sent, but false letters cannot be sent; life can be cheap, but the dead cannot be used as living witnesses. In the second volume "Beijing Chess Game", Liang Zhao entered the capital and discovered that the Liaodong food and salary case, the Yuan Chonghuan case, the Heluo Chess Club, and the Beisi Secret Hall were all controlled by an invisible hand. The big villain Wei Jiuzhong uses his "dead name" to control people, letting his dead name continue to run errands, kill people, and deliver letters, trying to turn truth and falsehood, human lives and crimes into pawns. Liang Zhao and others broke into Xiyuan, entered Beisi, seized forged letters, and delivered secret accounts. Finally, in front of the Meridian Gate, they tore open a corner of the secret accounts of dead banknotes and Liao salary. However, they also understood that if the truth can be seen in the light, it may not change their lives immediately. The novel focuses on the growth of the little character Liang Zhao, describing his transformation from a postman who only wanted to survive to a person who dared to intercept false letters and speak for the dead. The work combines the swordsmanship of the world, the dark situation of the court, and the historical turmoil. The core is not how the hero conquers the sky, but how the humble man keeps a little fire in the troubled times and refuses to accept his fate.
