Parallel Earth, "Abyssal Fission" occurred in 2063 AD - three thousand "abyssal fissures" were simultaneously torn out of the global crust. The "Void Seeds" that emerged from the cracks launched a large-scale invasion of the surface, making conventional weapons almost ineffective.
