Return to the Ruins

The world is not a single world, but a structure composed of nine layers of ruins stacked vertically. Each layer of ruins is the remains of the previous era - when an era reaches its end, its physical laws, life forms, and civilizational remains collapse and compress, forming a new layer of ruins that sink to the bottom of the world. A new era is rebuilt on the ruins of the latest level.
