There is a destiny engraved in the bones and blood of Changshou Village - for generations, no one lives beyond the age of thirty. Some people accept their fate and live out their lives in the mountains; some people are unwilling to go down the mountain but never return. When Mu Jiang was twenty-two years old, a sudden change forced him to carry a wooden sword and walk out of the mountains. His initial wish was small: to find a way to break the situation, live one more day, and see more of the world outside the village. But the world under the mountain is far broader and more cruel than he imagined. He saw some people seeking immortality but not getting it, saw some people dying without regrets, saw ordinary people in the market rushing for three meals, and was moved by the fireworks in the world. Some people say that destiny is determined by heaven, while others say that man's destiny is determined by heaven. As he walked, he asked: How can one live a life as short as a mayfly that is worth living?
