Southern Archives: Spoilers Seal Their Fate, Zhang Haiyan Breaks Down

[Southern Archives]+ [The Old Nine Gates]+ [The Grave Robbers' Chronicles] In Nanyang during the Republic of China era, a water ghost case broke out in Malacca, and members of the Zhang family abroad began disappearing one after another. When Zhang Haichuan opened his eyes, he had become the lowest-ranking clerk at the Southern Archives, an utterly insignificant nobody. On his very first assignment, he was sent with Zhang Haiyan and Zhang Haixia to examine a corpse sealed in salt, dragged up from the docks. Everyone said a water ghost was responsible. But the moment Zhang Haichuan touched the body, choices appeared before his eyes. [Choice One: Record the corpse as usual. Reward: Old case files on the water ghost case.] [Choice Two: Warn Zhang Haixia to beware the coiled-flower reefs. Reward: Basic Zhang family movement technique.] [Choice Three: Perform an autopsy in front of everyone and remove the copper plate from the corpse's belly. Reward: Ten breaths before death.] Zhang Haichuan glanced at Zhang Haixia, who was still alive beside him, and chose the third option without hesitation. The next moment, right in front of Zhang Haiyan, he sliced open the corpse's abdomen. A copper plate rolled out from inside. Engraved on it was a line of text: Zhang Haixia, dead aboard the Nanan on the twenty-seventh day from now. Zhang Haiyan drew his blade on the spot. “Who exactly are you?” Zhang Haichuan looked up at him. “Don't rush to interrogate me.” “There's another corpse in the old archives with your name on it.”
