"Gold Thread Clothes" is a novel based on the thousand-year-old traditional handicraft gold embroidery. The story tells the story of the 23-year-old girl Shen Jinlu and her 93-year-old grandmother Shen Zhou in an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River. They are guarding a court embroidery skill that is on the verge of being lost - Panjin embroidery. The novel begins with Shen Jinlu copying Ming Dynasty dragon robes for a museum. Through his grandmother's dictation, the novel takes readers back to the prosperity of "crown gold" in Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty and the majesty of dragon robes in the Forbidden City in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, showing the millennium inheritance of Panjin embroidery from the palace to the people. The exquisite craftsmanship of the gold thread coiling and forming on the embroidery surface and floating on the cloth surface, the strict requirements of "one work, no gold thread cutting", and the unique aesthetics of "golden light on the front and plain on the back" were all slowly revealed in the dialogue and practice between the grandfather and grandson. However, her grandmother suddenly fell ill, the museum project was suspended, and her father asked Jinlu to give up embroidery and work in the city. The inheritance path faced a break. In a desperate situation, Su Xiao, a college classmate studying fashion design, lends a helping hand and integrates panjin embroidery into modern high-end customized clothing. From the intertwining lotus pattern on the black velvet cloak to the gold embroidery technique that went to the Paris International Exhibition Hall, Shen Jinlu not only found the vitality of gold embroidery in the contemporary era, but also recruited apprentices to pass on the skills and established craft archives to revive this ancient craft. Ten years later, the old residence of the Shen family became a training center for Panjin Embroidery. The invisible golden thread passed down from the Tang Dynasty continued on the fingertips of generations of embroiderers. The novel ends with "Every stitch and every thread is inheritance, and each thread is a lasting chapter", writing a song of the times about ingenuity, perseverance and cultural confidence.
