In the near future of 2045, an immersive virtual reality game called "Abyss" was born, sweeping the world with its ultra-realistic physics engine and absolutely free gameplay. But soon the player discovers that if you die in the abyss, your brain will be irreversibly damaged in reality. Governments around the world teamed up to block the game, only to find that the game servers could not be shut down by any technical means. The protagonist Lin Du is a former military psychological warfare expert who became anonymous after retiring due to an accident.
