The Qingjian Clan

Three hundred years ago, the Qing and Liu clans split, though they shared a common origin. The Liu clan claimed a spiritual vein and flourished into a great power in the region. The Qing clan remained in the barren mountains, guarding a broken ancestral mirror. For generations, they lived as slaves, paid tribute year after year, and clung to life in Luohuai Valley. Three hundred years of patience brought no peace, only relentless encroachment and ever-increasing demands. Their medicinal fields were seized, their tributes raised. The weak clan had no pride left, only the fate of waiting to die. Seventeen-year-old Qing Yan was born in the polluted mountains and raised among ordinary people. He used the ancestral mirror’s remnant energy to break through and condense his essence, bearing tribulations with his body and trading his bones for cultivation. His path of cultivation was crippled from the very first breakthrough. Stone-like cracks gradually appeared across his body, and every step forward meant risking his life to give his clan a chance to survive. The clan was divided, its elders and children exhausted, and its people merely scraping by. Outside the clan, great powers bullied and steadily devoured them, determined to seize all the Qing clan’s ancestral lands. When patience proved useless and there was nowhere left to retreat, this broken body of his would bear the burden of the Qing clan, which had teetered on the brink for three hundred years. He would guard their ancestral fields, unite their people, resist outside oppression, and preserve their dwindling bloodline. Even a weak clan in the barren mountains can defy fate. With his broken body, the young man alone will keep the Qing clan’s ancestral flame burning for a hundred years.
