Three Inches of Homeland

Three inches is the measure of bound feet and the thickness of the ground beneath your feet. The three inches of my little feet have traveled through escape, famine, flood, and revolution; the three inches of my homeland are buried with ancestral graves, silver coins, diaries, and unfulfilled promises. The peace of mind, hometown and destination that people pursue throughout their lives are ultimately limited to three inches of feet and a piece of hometown.
