Level 3 Bifurcation

Lu Chen, a Ph. D. In physics, saw the "bifurcation" for the first time in the few seconds he fell into the water. The water surface cracked into several mirrors, and there was one of him standing in each one: one was rescued, one climbed ashore alone, and the other was floating face down in the water, looking at him with his eyes open. He survived. But from that day on, at every decision juncture, he could see his possible branches leading to different endings - he could see it, but he couldn't choose. Once reality collapses into one road, the rest of it disappears forever. Even colder things are to come. He gradually discovered that every time he made an observation, there were always details that didn't match up afterwards: wrong colors, lost conversations, a look that shouldn't be unfamiliar. He began to wonder whether the "me" that remembered all this at this moment was still the same me who fell into the water, or another branch that was quietly replaced during a certain collapse. There is a limit to his ability - at most he can see a third layer of bifurcation. And someone was waiting for him to cross that line. This is not a fate-changing story. This is a person trying to determine which one of his countless selves is true.
