Silent Lamp

It tells the story of Shen Qinghe, a 16-year-old sophomore boy in high school, and Shen Dashan, his 46-year-old decoration worker father. Eight years after their mother left, the father and son lived in an old-fashioned building in Chengdu and relied on notes for daily communication - "eat", "drink" and "go to bed early". The father gets up at 5:30 every day to make breakfast and then goes out to the construction site; the son is introverted and has only one friend at school: his deskmate. On his 16th birthday, my father clumsily bought a cake with the words "Qinghe 16" crookedly written on it. At the bottom of the box was a note full of words - it was the longest paragraph my father had ever written. From that day on, something began to change quietly. This is a story about "seeing": the son gradually sees his father's hard work and clumsy love, and the father gradually sees his son's loneliness and growth. Neither of them can say "I love you", but they have found their own way of communication - notes, actions, and tacit understanding in silence. Some lights don't speak, but they stay on.
