Romance of the Three Teachings

During the Hongwu era, Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism all preached within the Ming Empire. At first, each did its own thing, but eventually they began swallowing one another up. Daoism was on the verge of victory and about to absorb both Confucianism and Buddhism when Buddhism found Tang Yabo in dire straits. Tang Yabo’s friend Yaodao arrived with Yangguang Meimei, and Yaodao ultimately brought all of Daoism crashing down.
