Reborn Before the New Semester: From the Start, I Save the Depressed School Belle

He dodged an out-of-control dump truck, only to get blindsided by a massive truck beside it whose driver played dirty. Ye Zhichuan, a miserable corporate drone who had only wanted to buy a bucket of KFC for Crazy Thursday, was sent straight back to a summer ten years ago. When he opened his eyes, it was three days before his first year of college began. It was also the day his childhood sweetheart, Lin Xingruo, had her fate utterly shattered. In his previous life, this day became the nightmare that haunted Lin Xingruo for the rest of her life. The torment inflicted by a gang of scummy thugs, followed by the intimidation of unscrupulous lawyers, drove the girl who once had light in her eyes into severe depression. Her wrists were covered in scars, and she eventually withered away in despair in a psychiatric ward. Arriving a step too late, Ye Zhichuan spent the rest of his life consumed by heart-wrenching regret. “If only I’d run a little faster...” So this time, since the heavens have given him another life with an adult’s resolve, not a single punctuation mark of that past tragedy will be allowed to happen again! He’ll crush every one of those social parasites and lawyers hiding behind respectable clothes! And once everything is settled, he’ll walk with her onto the college campus and experience the college life they never got to have in their previous lives. The campus belle, cold and aloof, who keeps everyone at arm’s length in others’ eyes, becomes an inseparable little shadow trailing behind Ye Zhichuan. Every morning, Lin Xingruo comes by with a blush on her face and piping-hot buns and soy milk in her hands, her voice soft and sweet. “Ye Zhichuan, if you don’t come down soon, breakfast will get cold.” By the basketball court, she obediently holds his bottled water and, under the jealous stares of every guy on campus, clumsily wipes the sweat from his forehead. Looking at the precious girl before him, whose eyes are filled with nothing but him, Ye Zhichuan smiles. With a second chance at life, I’m going to have this tooth-achingly sweet romance, no matter what!
