After Journey to the West: Sun Wukong Vows to Shatter This Prison

For ten thousand years, the Buddha and Great Sage Equal to Heaven had been nothing more than an idle, bored immortal in the Pure Land of Mount Ling, scrolling through the Heavenly Court's spirit-net. Just as he believed the Three Realms were eternal and unchanging, and that his golden Buddha body and title would last forever, an educational video from the mortal world shattered his dream of being Equal to Heaven. The vast solar system was actually a cosmic prison enclosed by a colossal wall of fire!

The eighty-one thousand miles he had once been so proud of, the journey west for which he had fought with his life, even the golden Buddha body he had cultivated for ten thousand years, were all nothing but an elaborate monkey show staged inside this tiny cage.

Even more devastating, when he charged furiously into Mount Ling to demand answers from the heavens, he discovered that the gods and Buddhas of all the heavens had long since ascended to a higher dimension, the Sacred Court. They had abandoned this realm, along with him, like a worn-out shoe, calling it a discarded divine domain.

Just as despair overwhelmed him, he saw through the window of the cold Southern Heaven Gate Space Station a figure in a spacesuit, waiting on Earth for him for ten thousand years: Zixia. The love that had endured ten thousand years and the fury of being abandoned by all the heavens intertwined, tearing away the false Buddhist radiance and igniting the tremendous demonic flame hidden in his heart.

The Buddhist light faded, and the demonic flames returned! He was no longer the Victorious Fighting Buddha. He was Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, breaking free from the shackles of fate!

"I, Old Sun, won't be a Buddha in a cage anymore!"

His golden cudgel rose. This time, he wasn't going to smash the Hall of Numinous Heaven, but the starry prison that held the entire world captive! He would take the one he loved, fight his way out of the solar system, and demand justice and answers from the gods of the lofty Sacred Court!
