There Is No Change in the World: the Karma Truck from Pingtung to Chiayi

This is not the kind of traditional ghost story that scares you away from sleep, but a late-night social record that makes you laugh and curse at the same time, but also makes your spine shiver. On the Provincial Highway 1 and Provincial Highway 17 in central and southern Taiwan, there are not only logistics drivers on the highway at three o'clock in the morning, but also gray karma at the intersection of yin and yang. The story revolves around the "Three Musketeers in the Late Night": Akai, a sweet-mouthed hotel manager who only wants to get a commission; Da Yong, a fisherman driver who has just shaved his head and is covered in tattoos but is very nervous; and Xiao Wei, a cynical amateur mage with medium-long ponytail. These three middle-aged Taiwanese men, who work in eight major industries, drive a modified Alphard nanny car that carries fish in the back half and picks up girls in the front half. Because of a family debt fifty years ago, they were accidentally transported to "Ms. Shui" in Butai Port, and were forced to be involved in a "karma pick-up and send-off relationship" that could not be undone. From Neipu, Pingtung, to the deserted hotel in Minxiong, Chiayi, they have seen faceless ladies sitting on tables and talking landlice collecting debts. Faced with the creepy and strange stories, the three people have only one highest principle: "As long as it doesn't affect the payment, anything can be discussed." This is a black humor epic that combines real people and true stories, authentic Taiwanese dialogue and the bitterness of the bottom of society - when you are hanging around in the world, you will eventually have to pay back the money you owe, and there will be no change for this karma truck.
