Lost in the Mist

Furukawa has counted how many times he has been blocked and ridiculed as an alien from the first year of high school to the present. Numbers are meaningless. What's meaningful is that tonight, he doesn't want to endure it anymore. So he climbed over a wall. No one knows what is behind that wall in the southeast corner of the school. He just wants to go home. The moment he climbed up the wall, he saw a fog. A gray-white, thick fog that billows slowly like a living thing. The other side of the fog is not the ground. He fell. Later he realized that the human world was just a layer of fog. Everyone lives in the fog, thinking that's all. And he turned over. Under the fog is the real world. Ancient, huge and unreasonable. Here he is a foreign object. Will be ostracized, hunted, and crushed by the world's "immune system." His only advantage is his eyes that "can see things that others cannot see" since he was a child. But being able to see the truth doesn't mean you can get out alive. Will the fog lift? Can he go home? Or is it that he has never been "at home"?
