You Said You'd Slack Off, So How Did You Become a Top-Tier Star?

My name is Lin Chen. I never imagined I'd transmigrate, get dumped from the start, and awaken a [Slacker System]. As a longtime reader of entertainment-industry novels, I know this is the standard protagonist opening. Before long, I'll get promoted and a raise, become general manager and CEO, marry a rich beauty, and reach the pinnacle of life. Just thinking about it gets me a little excited.

From then on, the entertainment industry had a slacker superstar with a style all his own.

While everyone else trained and studied hard, Lin Chen slept and slacked off.

While others sang their hearts out onstage with their partners to win votes, Lin Chen goofed off and sang, “Oh yeah.”

Audience: “Seriously, Lin Chen is slacking off way too much. Fine, he sleeps through training, but he goes onstage and sings ‘Oh yeah’ twice, and that's it?”

“Forget calling him Lin Chen. Let's call him Brother Oh Yeah.”

“Lin Chen makes money way too easily. He barely has two lines of lyrics, yet he still gets half of Xia Wanxing's earnings.”

Reporter: “As the male singer everyone says makes money more easily than anyone else in all of Huaxia, people say you owe it all to your partner, Xia Wanxing. What do you think, Lin Chen?”

“Me? I just want to slack off.”

Reporter: “Xia Wanxing, what do you think about your partner slacking off and goofing around, yet still being so popular?”

Xia Wanxing: “I have no idea. When I first saw him slacking off, I thought there was no way he'd make it. Who knew he'd slack his way into becoming a top-tier star?”

Guys, you know how it is. I originally signed Lin Chen expecting to lose money, but now he's famous.

Xia Wanxing looked at Lin Chen with a plaintive expression. “You said you'd slack off. How did you become a top-tier star?”
